I just finished this one today. It’s a 5.5” raised clip hunter. I made a very similar knife last month. They are 0.098” z-tuff, Rc61, using cryo/low temper. This heat treat is the second toughest steel tested in Larrin’s study on steel toughness. The only steel to test tougher was 8670, but that steel has half the rear resistance of z-tuff.

This is the one I did last month. It was a birthday gift for a customer’s son. He liked it so much he ordered the black one for his stepson.

I’m really liking the z-tuff. Exceptional toughness, and edge holding about the same as AEB-l, which is better than any of the common forging steels. Canadian outdoorsmen love this steel.
 
That's a great pair of blades, Warren. Are the guards G10? Or darkened metal of some kind?
