Z-wear kitchen slicer with curly poplar

this one was a christmas gift for my oldest niece. 0.100” z-wear with full distal taper. Full flat grind down to 0.003” before sharpening at 10dps. Curly poplar handle from my firewood pile stabilized with cactus juice.

I cut some fruit with it preparing desert on Boxing Day. This knife slices like very few knives I’ve used. Oranges just fell in half, and the scotchbrite finish results in very little stiction. The geometry is partially the result of the stability and toughness of the z-wear at high hardness. This one is Rc64.
