Zaan hotspot?

Hello CRK community. I just recently received my first Zaan, a recent model WC Star-Tac. During my honeymoon phase, I'm noticing a hot spot on the handle. It's at the edge of the lock bar cutout where I circled on this photo. To me the corner is very pointy and sharp, which is a departure from the f&f of my other sebs.

Question for the community is if this sharp point standard for Zaans, or do I have an anomaly?

Thank you for replying! I'm surprised a sharp corner like this, right where the index finger can go, hasn't been corrected yet. Adding 1 more tiny bevel and its gone.

It's on them all, I have never had any pain caused by it and I've carried and used an Umnumzaan for a good while now. :p

I've never heard any comments about hot spot/spots on a Zaan. Maybe tougher skin on the hands would help.:D

Never been a problem for my hands. In fact, you are highlighting an area that I much prefer the Umnumzaan to the Sebenza due to the way the blade tang fills the pivot area on my Zaans whereas my 21 has a gap where the blade tang is "recessed" in that spot when open.

They did do exactly that on the same are with the Regular Sebenza so it could easily have been done. They obviously just thought it was not going to be an issue. If it is a problem for you could easily fix or have it fixed. I and I know many others have never noticed it during use. :)

Here is a pic of a Regular next to an Umnumzaan showing the cleaned up corner, I have to agree there would have been no harm in doing a similar thing with the umnumzaan lock face cut out edges.

Yup, especially since it's the ceramic doing the work. Nicely illustrative pic Haze - also shows the gap I was trying to describe that's not present on a Zaan.

Thanks for everyone's reply. Haze, your photo is exactly what I was thinking. It's not that my hand is soft and sensitive to this hotspot, it's more of me being surprised to feel any sharp corners on such a thought-out design like the Zaan. Even the 1/8" Allen wrench has Wiha stamped on it instead of a generic brand. No worries though, I still marvel at the engineering that went into this knife. Very awesome knife!
