Zaan lanyard pin does not fit snug between the scales

I noticed that the Zaan's shouldered lanyard pin does not sit snug between the scales and has side-to-side play, and that's because CRK uses the same lanyard pin as they use on the large Sebenzas, which are 0.01" narrower between the scales. This strikes me as mildly disappointing given that it seems like a cost-cutting measure when they should make parts that fit perfectly for the knives they're installed in.

I thought the shouldered lanyard pin went away some time ago and they now have lanyard pins non shouldered.

I think it's just the opposite now. All of them are shouldered so they don't fall out with the lanyard removed.

On my Sebenza, I used a bit of blue loctite on one side and just leave it in place when disassembling. I got one of the backspacer standoffs to replace it on my Umnumzaan. The rattle is annoying, but I think they do it intentionally to allow the pin to rotate freely without binding for the lanyard to move.

The Inkosi lanyard design is superior IMO

Gotcha, couldn’t remember how it went. I know it’s been mentioned before. Now I’m guessing, the smalls have always been shouldered, the larges weren’t and now are.
