Zaan O-ring swap problem

Hi everyone. So I saw all the posts with swapped out O-rings. I went ordered myself some glow-in-the-dark ones from the website that had been mentioned. bodyartforms.com. I ordered the 8 gauge since that was what people said worked. Got them today and there is a problem.

As you can see, they are smaller than the stock ones. The inside diameter seems about right but the outside is much smaller.

I had ordered 10 figuring if they break, I could have backups. Since I got so many, I tried doubling them up but still not big enough.

Well why not try another?

So that sort of works but it looks like crap. Plus the surface area is so small that it doesn't really stop the thumb studs from hitting the scales. I decided to try putting the black O-rings on and putting the GITD ones on the inside part of the thumb studs. That prevented the blade from locking up well so forget that. The company throws in free black O-rings with orders and I chose the 8 gauge for those. Those seem to be identical to the stock ones. So why are the GITD ones so thin? $13 isn't a bunch of money but I hate throwing money away. Plus I was really looking forward to the glow ones. Anyone know somewhere else to get the right ones? Thanks.

I'm going to piggyback on this thread, I'm curious to see what the solutions are....

Wow, those are way too small. Hope you can just exchange em.
Worst case most hardware stores carry factory sized o rings.

Take the Umnumzaan o-ring to a tattoo shop and I'll bet they can get you some in the right gauge if they don't have them. That is the only way I have found the right ones in coloures out side of orange or black. After all that I actually just use black ones now and gave all the other ones away. :p

i went to the plumbing dept at home depot & bought o rings, they were black of course, but they seemed stronger than the ones that were on there, lockup was slightly earlier, too. sometimes those glow rings & other ones arent as strong or thick as what they should be,as ive found out myself.

The GITD silicone o-rings will definitely not be as durable as the factory black poly-urethane. I briefly looked at what GITD is out there and only saw ones spec'd at 0.045" in diameter; to my knowledge factory ones are closer to 0.063". The hunt continues...
