Ok I have a ZANCUDO and a RAT II, both are 3" knives, the former a framelock, the latter a linerlock.
Is their a 3.5" framelock now that has the same shape as the ZANCUDO? ...........or is it the same shape as the RAT line?

I ask because I like the ZANCUDO shape, but NOT the RAT line.

Hope I made this clear enough.:)

I guess I didn't make it clear. I DO want a large ZANCUDO.
The avispa has the RAT line shape not ZANCUDO, look closely, it looks like the old RAT 1, except for the framelock.

the Zancudo only comes in one size and ESEE Knives makes the Avispa which is the only other folder they sell.

Your only choice is to get the Avispa because the "large ZANCUDO" doesn't exist.

You must be talking about the handle shape, not blade shape, because the blade shape doesn't really change between the Zancudo and Avispa.

They are also made in the same place, same workers, same materials, etc. I have a Rat 1, and it's a nice folder.

It's really simple, the Zancudo is its own knife. The handle is similarly shaped to a Izula, and its blade shape is a spear.
The Avispa heavily borrows from the RAT II insofar as handle shape. The blade, again, is a spear.

These two knives were/are to compete with the RAT I and II, and deciding on which has everything to do with blade shape.

Both the the RAT's and the Zancudo and Avispa are manufactured in Taiwan in Paul Lin's factory, and the materials are identical right down to the AUS8 steel.

Which you choose is really nothing more than a matter of stylistic preference, and either brand is a solid bang for your buck.

RAT's are manufactured for, and marketed by Ontario, who were the earlier manufacturer's of ESEE knives. The Zancudo and Avispa only wear a ESEE logo, but is made for and distributed by Blue Ridge Knives, and it is not an ESEE knife, though it is quite apparent ESEE is reaping the benefits of the success of these offerings from Blue Ridge.

Any questions?:)

I also own a Rat 1, had it for a couple summers and carried it the whole summer of 2013 and it has one of the most comfortable and ergonomic handles out of all my folders, the Avispa has the same handle so OP is really missing out on a pretty good budget folder if he passes on the Avispa.

I looked at past thread(should have done first;) ), they had a side by side of the Zancudo/Avispa another of Zancudo/Rat, it's quite revealing.
I didn't care for the Rat's high rise of the spine at the tang area nor the blade's tip.
Now I see the kinship of the blade with the Zancudo. I like the blade, I like it enough to get one.:)

ORDERED IT TODAY! Thanks for the help.
