What is ZDP-189 and how does it compare to other high end stainless like S30V? Thanks
 
ZDP-189 is a P/M stainless steel with essentially high carbon and high chromium content. Vanadium and Molybdenum are not at the S30V levels. Essentially it is a P/M high alloy 440C. All carbides are chromium carbides like 440C and D2 just greater in volume. This steel is not new as it has been around for at least 20 years. It resurfaces every few years as new but is not.
