ZDP vs D2 which steel is better for cutting harder material? Ignoring the importance of blade geometry differences, which steel generally cuts longer?

I'm really curious now that I own a D2 710.

it is depending on the way of cutting (and blade geometry) I like both D2 and ZDP189 but I prefer INFI ;)

how hard a material?

i would think for chopping, the d2 might hold up better. both are on normally on the harder end of the spectrum, with the zdp being significantly harder than the d2, normally.

with a few exceptions, neither is used in the larger chopping blades. ive only seen the zdp in small folders. it might be too brittle for larger and heavier knives.

I was thinking slicing and not chopping, as I rarely use a folder for chopping tasks, but I have been happy with D2 myself, curious if the ZDP would give benefits over the more brittle structure, true INFI would be great for one of my folders.
