So took a couple of shots today of the first ZDP-189 Shallot off the grinders along with a bit of finish work.

We are getting closer, shouldn't be more than a couple more weeks now.

whoah! that thing is dead sexy and i love the curves and lines in it. I actually like that even more than the CB Leek due to the recurve blade adding to the effect.

Any idea of price?

Still a couple of weeks huh? Please hurry up with those things I have money burning a hole in my pocket for one. I held off on the shallot waiting for one of the composite ones.

YIPEEE!

First early 2009, then November, and now a few weeks away!

Thomas, you have redeemed yourself.

Grrrrrr.....I will have to wait until early next year for offerings. I have no money! :grumpy:

I'll Take It? :)

Thomas, correct me if I'm wrong, but if this comes out in a couple weeks, will this be the first knife released utilizing the new Sandvik steel?

Hmm, technically no, as the current CB JYD II's, and Leeks both are incorporating 14C28N carriages. Now the first blade that will utilize 14C28N as a cutting edge will be the 1660TSW, a stone washed PE Random Leek (boutique run), due out this month.

The OD-1, Zings, and Pacrat will then follow (not necessarily in that order).

So Thomas, are you guys rushing these knives so they'll be out before we all go broke over the holidays? That sounds like a smart plan to me. It also sounds like I'm going to be broke before the holidays!

I'm really excited about the CB shallot, not to mention the new steel.
