Does any one know of a source for these in the US? Also, can anyone show how they have theirs set up and how they carry them? Thanks a ton guys/gals!

yea bensbackwoods just got some in stock after beeing out for a long time!
Service is great too~!

I got two from Ben's, a 10 cm with a handle and a 14 cm with a bale. Both are very well made, but a little heavy. As it says, will last a lifetime.

bensbackwoods. I would also suggest that a very lightweight, cheap & readily available pot can be found in a coffee can, just pierce a couple of holes on both sides top of the can and string some wire through to hang it above your fire.

Thanks guys for the responses, I just checked that site out. I think I will go with either a 12cm or a 14cm. I have thought about going with a coffee can but I really like that this setup has a lid and a pan, not that it would be hard to come up with something for a coffee can I suppose... How do you guys carry your billy cans/coffee cans/pots?

wow new billys at bens.....what am i gonna do with this 5lbs of coffee????!

i usually use my pots as food containers....saves space.

14cm version here. Great gear! Bought mine from Bens.

Hi Whitney --

I'm am in the process of making my own with the coffee can at the link. It has a lid and inverted, it's a bowl. Says out of stock online but check the store where they are sold individually.

A stainless GSI mug with handles removed fits inside with space underneath for other stuff. I don't mind reinstalling the handles when I need to. Trangia alky stove fits inside the GSI or you can carry fuel items elsewhere. This canister fits well with parts from the GSI soloist setup too.

I am still deciding on a windscreen/pot stand/possible hobo dual-use setup but if I decided to use a tin can, the coffee canister fits snugly inside a large Bush's Bean can....possibly too snugly. I have other schemes going on for this part of my project and won't detail it all because I've really decided on nothing permanently.

If you need a carry bag, make one out of a pant leg. If you don't sew, Fabri-Tac Glue by Beacon Adhesives will work. You can find it at JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's.

For visuals, there are modified zebra billies posted on internet plus homemade cooksets too. Do a Google search, see what you come up with. Also, you can google "hobo stove" in Google Images - some of the pics have complete billy rigs.

Check Goodwill for other parts you might need or want.

I have a 10cm and a 14cm form bensbackwoods. Both are great, the 10 cm has exactly the same capacity as mu US canteen cup.

I plan on getting the 12cm one of these days as the 14 is just a bit bigger than I usualy use when solo hiking. Yet it is enough larger than the 10 to provide enough capacity for cooking harvested small game, and stewing.

I have an Open Country 2 quart aluminum pot which weighs 0.26 lbs. I like the volume for winter.

Does the Zebra 14cm really weigh 1 lb 10 ounces?

That includes a little fry pan that fits in the pot.

Pot is 1 lb 0 oz

Lid is 4.5 oz

Pan is 5.0 oz

I said they were "sturdy".
