Just grabbed one of these little guys for myself. Should be excellent for digging up wild edibles as well as general digging work. The underside is concave, though you can't see in the photo. Hopefully I'll get to test it out on some cattails or something today!

The grind is decent enough on it, though it came unsharpened (a few minutes with a file fixed that) and the sheath is nothing to write home about, but it's one of the only "hori hori" style knives I've seen on the market that has a polypro handle, which I like for durability reasons.

Anyone ever use something similar?

Nice! I'm just using a garden trowel for most of my soil play. DocCanada uses a hori hori (does that mean it costs twice as much for sex???)....

Speaking of DocCanada, and no, I charge the same either way.

The Hori 2s are excellent for stated purpose. The polypro handle should be good and comfortable and the orange should make it harder to lose.
