Looking to buy this knife, it looks great on the net. However I am blessed being in Oralndo by the fact that there is almost no decent store for knives, so cant hold and feel it.

Anyone own it/use it? How well made is the knife for a production run? Thinking of making it a camping knife.

thanks

All i know is that CPM 3V is a super-tough, super wear-resistant steel. However, it is a non-stainless steel so keep that in mind if it will be getting wet alot while out camping or rafting or whatever.

Keep a light coat of gun oil on the blade after extended use and during storage.

Your blessed by being in Orlando where Randall Knives are made. Good luck with your decision. Carbon steel is great, it has character. I would give it a try.

thanks for letting me know. I was just going to local stores and no one told me this.

The 0100 is very well made. It's a steal at the price. The knife is sort of compact and powerful. Very ergonomic, and easy to use without any noted hot spots or problem areas.

The steel is top of the line for it's intended purpose. Great wear resistance and chopping, impact strength don't often go together, but this is one of the few knife/steel combos where you have both.

If you're into sharpening you will like 3V steel. It takes a wicked edge. Like Thomas W. stated it's coated to prevent rust, but I keep the edge on mine wiped down and clean between uses.

This is a knife I won't be trading, selling or getting rid of any time in the future I can see.
