Hey everyone, here is the intro thread for the 0180. Im a little slow getting this up and most of you probably saw this awesome knife already. Im happy to see a smaller fixed ZT being added to the line up, and I am especially excited to try out this new steel. Based off Rick Hinderers Fieldtac.

From Uddeholm website: Vanadis 4 Extra
This is a PM tool steel grade designed for maximum toughness and is recommended for use in tactical utility knifes, where a high reliability is needed. Although it can be hardened to 64 HRC, the recommended hardness range is 58-62 HRC.

I like it, but I'm not sure how useful it would be. A low, sabre grind on a thick, 4-inch blade made out of exceptionally tough steel should survive almost any task, but be a poor cutter.

The sheath looks very well made.

Looks awesome. Very plain and no frills but it seems like a hard worker.

It seems like fixed blades that don't cut are the big things now.

Thats a Spec Ops Combat Master sheath

Sheaths are often overseen by knife companies, so its nice to see that ZT have found a proper one for the 0180.

I like that the sheath has a made in the USA tag a lot of sheath are made in other country's I think it's nice to see a made in the USA knife in a made in the USA sheath

In one of the videos, Jim says that they found the sheath and it was perfect so they used it.

I can't wait for this to land on the streets. Reminds me of a fixed bladed 0550/0551. I'm interested to see how the Vanadis 4 Extra performs.

I'm looking for a while for a fixed production knife in VA4E but this one looks to tactical and less use-oriented.
The grind on the prototype seems a bit higher than on the final version.

I wish a design like the spyderco serrata would come in vanadis 4E.

I' dont like these type of sheaths they are too bulky, make the package bigger than necessary
Last one I have is from the lionsteel M3
Very good quality but again too bulky, I'm now looking for the leather sheath.

I don't see how this one looks too tactical and how that would render it less useful? Because its all black? Its a simple design, no recurve, no blood groove, small amount of jumping, can be sharpened in the field with just a stone. Handle looks very comfortable and with, as Jim said, "2 cambers" the edges of the G10 will be comfortable and reduce hot spots.

I like it, probably the only ZT I would consider buying, looks to be a good camping or field knife, though only in hand would I know for sure...
