With all of the hype on the new collaboration with Mr. Hinderer and the success of the ZT 0560/0561, 0551 and probably the 0550, the question in the back of my mind is:

Will the Zero Tolerance 0200 / 0300 series knives continue or will they be headed the way of the dinosaur?

I went to what I thought was the ZT home page (probably wasn't) and one of the 0300 knives had information XXXX'ed out.

This was around Monday and I haven't stopped wondering. These a/o behemoths are awesome folders and I'd sure want to know if there were plans to discontinue them so I could lay up a couple in my folding knife larder.

I'd appreciate any inside information if you see this Thomas or Kershaw/ZT folks. :)

I'm not with KAI, but I can't see them getting rid of their flagships. I mean if someone says ZT, me personally I think of a ZT 0300 or 0200. When someone says, "That knife looks like a beast," I look to see if it's as beastly as an 0300. ZT's have taken a back burner in production as of late due to Kershaw trying to push some stuff out (per Thomas), so they've been going out of stock alot here recently.

The ZT 0200 and 030x is part of the flagship line. They have better sense than to get rid of their bread and butter. The ZT 0302 is the only ZT that's been

discontinued as far as I know.

I have a question:

Since the ZT 301 is an assisted opening folding knife, wouldn't that make it illegal to EDC in public setting?

As long as there's enough interest in those models (backed by sales numbers) they should stay in production.

I think the 0300 and 0200 series will become classics. Similar to the 710 and the Military.

On my days off I switch between many of my knives,( spec bump,2 ZT350's, Blurs, small sebenza) but while at work, my ZT301 is ALWAYS with me . I can't imagine that knife ever going out of production.

The only way I'd replace this knife is if I lost it and I'd buy another.

Even when sitting at home, flicking open the 300 is just satisfying, it's like my security blanket... just a really sharp one ;)
