Zero Tolerance 0300 Rattles when open

I noticed a small rattle in my zt 0300. It's not from the blade or locking mechanism. It seems to be in the speed safe system its self. Is that normal? Everything else seems to be functioning fine. I e-mailed ZT and Kershaw, yet to hear back. Any input would be appreciated.

In speedsafe knives, when open, there is no tension on the spring, it sits in a channel in the liner and rattles in there, its normal. Some people fill the hole with grease, but it slows the blade some.

Thanks Matt! That makes sense. I didn't notice the rattle till I cleaned it the first time. I was about to take it apart to see if something was loose. You saved me the trouble.

Matt's correct. A little grease in the channel should quiet the rattle. This is a Random Task, the ZT0300 is the same, only bigger.

You don't need to pack it full. That would really slow it down.
