Are the blades on these knives the same length? or is the 0200 a little longer. The Knife art website says they are the same, does anybody own both to compare?

anyway I would like to get one of these but I can't decide which one. the 0200 seems to be a better value, and I like the look better. The 0300 however has so many nice features, I would definitely choose s30v over 154cm, and the machined ti frame lock looks killer. Which one would you get?(or already have)

the 300 is a Ti framelock and has S30V
the 200 is a liner lock with 154CM

i would get the 0300 but i would get a blem from kershawguy here on BF. you will pay a lot less.

I agree 110% I just got one from kershawguy and it is absolutely awsome. You have to look hard to find the blem, and thats IF you can find it. I got the 0301 ( its the same as the 0300 only it has a green handle ) I Highly Highly Recommend It. PM kershawguy.......:thumbup:

The 0200 has a tad longer blade the the 0300.

0200 is 154CM, and the 0300 is S30V.

0200 is a .070 liner lock and the 0300 is a Ti frame lock.

0200 is a flipper and the 0300 is SpeedSafe AO.

Both are capable of handling just about anything you toss at them.

I have both, and the 0200 is my preference.

Just got a 0200...man its so solid...definately a better value than a 0300..this wont be my last ZT knife...

One of my friends got a 0300 a while back...he opened it a few times, put it in the box and sent it back...it was just to heavy to carry...

The 0200 is pushing what i consider to be carry able, but its still an awesome knife!

I have both. Both are keepers, but I think that the 0200 is more practical and will get more use. If pushed to chose one I would pick the 0200. Ask me again tomorrow and it might be the opposite.

I had the 0200,while I loved it when I purchased it was soon after they was released and all I could get was a combo edge. I sold that and bought the 0300 which I carry daily in a belt pouch. I like the solid Ti locking side and the assisted opening. Up grade S30V steel better, too. But, the 0200 is a fine knife and if you want to pay better than 100 dollars less a good choice. Just according to what you want and want to spend.
I did send my 0300 off to be paper-wheel sharpened, because the edge was at such a steep angle and I was less than happy with it,the 0200 was sharp enough out of the box. If it had been PE I would have kept it.

I Am waiting FOR A 0300 from KershawGuy,

The specs put the 0300 wt at 8oz & the 0200 at 7.9oz.
Can you really tell the difference in 1 tenth of an ounce?:D LOL

edited to read 8 oz not 6oz.

Should have put my glasses on when typing.LOL

0200 is 7.7 and the 0300 8oz. so the 0300 is 3/10 OZ. more.
Why KAI lists the 0301-02 at 8.6 OZ I never could figure out. They are supposed to be exactly the same as the 0300 other than color.

The most remarkable thing to me about ZT/Kershaw is their customer service. I had a minor problem with my ZT301 so I called and they told me to send it in. They never asked me for payment for return shipping. When I asked about it they said they would never charge for that, and of course the repair was free.

I've got the 200 and love it. For me it was the personal preference of the non-AO model.

Been lurking and learning here and just got a ZT 0302. Most I ever spent on a knife but I love it ! However mine does not have the date on the blade, it does have all other markings plus " speed safe". Another guy got the same thing with a 0301.

Is this a recent change or production run ?

Thanks.

I like my 301. The blade was a bit thick at the edge, didn't cut as I liked. Sent it out to Tom Krein, got blade reduced in thickness, looks good and cuts well. He also put a longer swedge on it. Edge is about .020" thick

I rently weighed both knives on a digital scale and I'll have to go back and see where they were at.

From my experience weight is only one factor (albeit a major one) in how a knife carries.

Edited to note that I just weighed my 0301 and 0200 on the same digital scale. The 0200 came in at 7.9 ounces and the 0301 at 8.1. A 0.2 ounce difference sure isn't a factor as to my preference in how the 0200 carries. It's all so subjective.

And now that I think about it, not using a clip, how I evaluate a knife for carry is potentially going to be very different from someone who does use a clip.

I love the look of the 0200, I wish it had s30v and TI framelock like the 0300. Perhaps that will be in the cards for 2010? while the 0200 is a great deal I would be willing to pay for the better steel and lock. Not that there is anything wrong with the 0200 lock at all, but the ooooooooooooo factor of the TI frame lock is off the charts.

is it true you can remove the spring assist from the 0300? anything auto-ish makes me a little nervous.

Yes you can, but then you have no detent to hold the blade closed. You must use a drill bit to make a detent hole. In my 8 months of carrying my 0300, I have never had it open up on me. This includes rough and tumble dragging my butt through forests (mountain biking)...snow-boogie-ing/skiing (including jumps)...etc.

I carry mine TIP-UP (blade spine is against the seam of my right pocket). People who have carried Tip-down haven't had it open up in their pocket either though.
