Hey Guys,
I'm kinda of lusting over a 0392. ( Who isn't?) I really dig the 0560BW and 0300BW I have. Any ideas or speculation as to if the 0392 will be offered in the black wash finish ever?

If they end up making a more readily available model in G10 with Elmax, I will probably snap one up. I really have little interest in this knife as is though, which to be fair, mirrors my lack of interest in the Hinderer Eklipse this is patterned after.

I have little interest in the Hinderer Eklipse, but this knife has a different look to me. I see this ZT more like a CRK Umnumzaan with M390 steel. Awesome, and definitely on my hit list. To respond to your question though - I wouldn't bet on ZT doing a blackwash or any other alternate version of a Limited Edition knife. They seem to use this strategy to expand the appeal of regular production knives. Then again, there were several versions of the 0888 and the 0777, so who knows?

I agree 100 percent with Dallas totally looks more CRK Umnum to me too. I loved that knife when I had it. M390? Sign me up. I'm not in love with the blue tho.

I'm seriously lusting over the 0392 as well. I am going to be super sad if I am not able to get one (since they're LE).

I'd get the tissues ready if I were you. And then you can get the lube ready for your attempt to capture one on the secondary market.

The 0888 versions were announced early on. The 0777 had a switch on blade steels after they couldn't finish the composite blade version due to production issues.

It looks nice, and I'm a rabid ZT fan/collector, but I really don't get their marketing strategy here. They're calling it "custom" because it's available with hardware in any color you like...just so long as it's blue. Vague hints of more custom parts to come don't qualify that knife as custom or even customizable, at least to me. At the very least, this knife should be launched as a complete line with about half a dozen different hardware and scale options.

If it were me, and I were going to launch something called "factory custom", I would do what people really want and offer a variety of custom finished OEM hardware and various colors/textures of OEM scales for the thousands of ZT knives they already own.

This smells to me like someone on the product development side at ZT had what would have been a great idea, but as it made its way through the corporate approval process, it got turned into what it is...a new knife with blue hardware, and talk of maybe, possibly being able to get hardware in other colors by third party vendors...that is, if they sell enough knives to make it worth those third party vendors while. Meh...

If they wanted to really gauge demand for factory custom knife parts, they should put their big boy pants on and do it right...at least that's how I see it.

ZT - If you're watching, I have Benchmades with blue hardware. Please try a little harder...I will buy. :-)

The "custom" designation is in reference to the parts compatibility with Hinderer's actual parts.
