I'm was looking for an EDC flipper in the $200 - $300 range. I stumbled across the ZT knives, which seem to be well reviewed. How well does the KVT (Kershaw Velocity Technology) Opening System work and hold up over time in the pocket?

I'm thinking about waiting for these to come out at end of year, but are there other recommendations you can make for an EDC "FLIPPER" in this range or would you wait?

Thanks in advance!

ZT makes great knives, and the 0560/0561 looks like a particularly excellent design. So I think you'll be very happy if you wait for it.

Regarding KVT, no knives featuring it have hit the streets yet, so you won't find anyone with long-term experience of how it holds up to regular pocket carry. But you might do a search for IKBS to get an idea of people's experiences with knives with a similar (but not identical) bearing system. As for how well KVT works, from everything I've read from people who have tried the prototypes of the ZT 056X and Kershaw Tilt (another flipper using KVT) at knife shows, it works extremely well; comments to the effect of "flies open like it's an assisted opener" seem to be the norm.
