new all time best selling ZT? i think so
This is ZT we're talking about, if you guys remember what happened with the 550, I find it hard to believe they'll make deadline with the 0560... none of the knives that Kershaw introduced in 2011 SHOT are even going to hit shelves this year which is pretty funny
I remember. There was a delay in the steel (VANAX 35) from Uddeholm, so in an effort to move the project along and meet the demand from our customer, we did up an LE 0551 with ELMAX. We could have just kept with the V35 waiting game (of which we'd still be waiting), but instead did steel change to S35VN, made some further refinements to the model, and now the 0550's are out. This is ZT we're talking about, if you guys remember what happened with the 550
Based on the popularity of our 2 brands, a 2011 factory expansion, a pretty outrageous back ordered situation, exceeding capacity, and pushing limits with technology and performance, if the 0560 makes it out 6 month after it's debut IMO that rocks!I find it hard to believe they'll make deadline with the 0560...
I'll qualify this for you, as you're probably not speaking about the imports we introduced this year (which all are on the market), but instead are talking about the USA produced Knockout, Echelon, and Piston. Well a run of Knockouts have been on the market for a month or so, Echelons are due this month, and Pistons in January 2012.none of the knives that Kershaw introduced in 2011 SHOT are even going to hit shelves this year which is pretty funny
It's funny how good intentions create bad situations. Lesson learned.

Unfortunately there are many factors that as a manufacturer, are out your control. This can cause delays, in some cases long delays.
Sure wish it was like making pepperoni pizza, but perhaps we're bitten by the, I want it now generation here.

Sorry we're not getting it done fast enough for some, we'll try and do better to keep up with sharp demands.
Between getting knockoff'd by smaller wannabe brands, and hearing it about delivery times from upset customers, I feel more confident about changes to our approach, both with First Looks here, and even at Shows like SHOT and Blade. We've looked within our new offering business model and realize the early release of images, proto's, and spec's cause eye rolling, sarcasm, and complaints. This overshadows our overall good intentions and enthusiasm.
At SHOT next month no new USA branded ZT or Kershaw will be introduced. This is sad and boring IMO, but again it's a new approach for us in 2012. When we show it, we'll be ready to ship it.

Kershaw rep is the mod here, and monitors multiple times a day. Dissatisfaction, satisfaction...either way it gets addressed when said Kershaw reps deems it necessary.Kershaw rep responds within 24hr's of me posting the slightest dissatisfaction about their due dates?
It's true. Now sir, I truly believe you guys are doing everything in your power to get the projects moving along.
I'll qualify again for you, and believe you're speaking about USA made intro's for 2012. There will be a handful of imports available.I really respect that you folks aren't going to introduce new products for 2012, with the saturation of the vast number of models, I doubt you'd want to add more to your plate considering that the 2011 SHOT debuts are coming out in January... I doubt there is enough time and resources to start manufacturing lines for newer products.
The USA made Tilt has been scheduled for some time. I'm unsure how to address your claim of the majority shopping desires vs. our production. Sales are pretty strong.I was just irked when I saw you guys released limited runs of more knives the majority of us weren't shopping for like the sprint run of the Tilt and some other offerings...
We're learning everyday how to satisfy.Lots of manufacturers release product specs way too far in advance so that the hype really dies down, now please keep in mind I only speak for myself, but I appreciate that you guys are very sure and you want to let people know what stuff is coming out that you have set in motion to produce, but when you have something like a 10 month wait for a 50 dollar knife, it really really hurts consumer morale. I've bought like 800 dollars worth of folders and balisongs in the time I've been waiting for you guys!
Again I don't know what the time frame is on that delivery window, but know that we're shortening it up.No doubt the 0560 will find loads of esteem as soon as it comes out, it's just that it's really been a while and the way 2011 has rolled out, I've put $0 into Kershaw so far not by choice, but because I couldn't find something new to buy which is sad because you guys are in my top 3 manufacturers.
