I'm new to this Forums, and I've been admiring all the great knives and figured it was time to get myself a bit more higher end knife. :)

I've narrowed it down to 2, the Zero Tolerance 0560 or the Emerson Super Commander all black.

Any advice?

ZT hands down. ELMAX blade steel, Ti frame lock, and KVT bearing system on the ZT beats 154cm, g10 scales, and a liner lock every day of the week. Emerson has a large following, but I just don't see it. Mediocre materials, mediocre fit and finish, and high price tags don't really do it for me...

+1 on all of this, you'll get higher quality materials (Elmax, Titanium handle) and tech (KVT, 3D machined G10) for the same price going with the 560.

Plus comparing under hardened 154cm to Elmax, Elmax has better edge holding, toughness, rust resistance, the only thing 154cm has going for it is it will be easier to sharpen, not that Elmax is hard to sharpen.

Emerson! Super commander is a clasdic.

Both are great though. You cant go wrong either way. Buy which ever catches your eye more.

I have got Supercommander. It looks and feels so big I'm not sure if I ever carry or use it: it is sort of ridiculous particularly combined with that recurve blade. That is my personal impression of course, nothing wrong with the knife. If you feel it is sort of your thing: just go for it! I would prefer regular or even mini if I considered buying another Commander now.

The Super Commander is great, but so is the 0560. Both will go down in history as some of the all time greats (the regular Commander already is).

There is just something about the 0560 though. This would be my pick. Both knives have great ergonomics, blade shapes and grinds, and good utility. But, the 0560 has tons of features and is quite the looker.

Try them both, but for me it's easy, the 0561

Happy birthday to me getting the 0560! Can't wait for it to arrive.

Oops never mind I was swayed to the 550.
