Zero Tolerance 0566 Tolerances (fit and finish)

Hey all, I just got my new ZT0566 today and love the feel of it. It's a bit hard to open, but I expect it will break in and loosen up with time. There is zero blade play with it open and locked. However, it looks like the G10 scale doesn't line up perfectly with the frame. Is this normal? Is it worth sending the knife in for the scale to be replaced? All in all it seems like a great knife, but I'm just wondering what other people think of this level of fit and finish on a $144 knife (it's my first Zero Tolerance btw). None of my Benchmades have this.

Was this a "blemish"?

MSRP is $180.00, and $144.00 is KershawGuy's price for a 0566 blem.

If you got a "blemish" knife... then you found the reason it was sold as such.

Not a blem, I bought it new from knifeworks. Functionally it seems perfect, but I'm not sure what to think about the scale not matching up.

No a blem, and not a problem. The scale is not supposed to line up perfectly. The liner acts in conjunction with the bladestops (aka thumbstuds). When open it makes more sense to have the bladestops contacting steel rather than G10 right?

Yep, same thing goes for the 0560.

Good to hear. I've been waiting for a ZT small enough to EDC for a while now--I don't want to have to start waiting again. I can't comment on edge retention just yet, but so far I'm loving it, and this blade has the sharpest factory edge I have ever encountered. It's going to be a frequent companion in my pocket.

I just feels so good to hold. You can see my other early Christmas present to myself in the picture. Yes, I have a problem :D

You're making me want mine back even more, I was being stupid and now mines in the warranty department. :o but I've got my 0801 to keep me company. :D

I had been using my 801 as my EDC sent it away for a little custom work then my 566 arrived fell in total love with it. Now it will be a hard choice to decide if the 801 makes in back into my pocket once it comes back. I might need to alter them by the day, Oh the choices.....

The 0566 is awesome, liiitle heavy but not a deal breaker at all, hope we see variations of it as I'll be all over different versions

Billygoat, I just got mine a couple of days ago. The knife is so stiff that it cant even be opened with the thumb studs and it takes so much preassure on the flipper that it has made my fingers sore. I am sadly considering returning it. Did yours ever loan up?

Thanks in advance
Jayson

Have had my 0566 for a month now.

3rd ZT and my favorite.

The first flipper that actually, well; "flipped".

Happy with the weight, fit and finish and the blade so far.

Will definitely find pocket time over my 0561 and 0801. (like the 0801 as well).
