I hope this is in the right section. I tend to lurk on here a lot but thought I would post about the ZT 0900 I just got in.

I ordered a ZT 0900 early yesterday from Blade HQ and got it in today. So thanks to BHQ for the fast shipping on that. I had been keeping my eye on this one and decided to just pull the trigger. I have quite a few large folders and recently decided to pick up a few smaller ones. I have to say I am extremely pleased so far with the 0900. I am super picky so I had seen some (as in a few) videos and reports where the detent ball fell out, or an off centered blade, marks on the finish etc. Most of what I saw was extremely positive but always worry a little when I order a knife because I didnt get to inspect it before hand. I am happy to report so far any worries or concerns were unfounded.

The knife came in a standard ZT box and was sealed in bubblewrap. First thing I noticed upon putting it in my hand is that the blade is dead centered. The stonewash finish is really nice and it flips open fast. There is ZERO blade play in any direction and the detent is perfect. It has a firm detent (which I like and prefer) and helps the blade fly open when I light switch it. I should have taken a pic of the lock up but its nice and early at about 20%-ish.

I think this is a great little tank of a knife for anyone who needs a smaller EDC blade but can handle real use. Its definitely overbuilt but without being ridiculous. I have started moving to smaller blades for carry at work. Whipping out a Super Commander in the office usually would get some unwanted attention after all. This is also a great option for someone who needs a blade under 3 inches. At 2.75 inches in blade length its great.

The pocket clip is fine but I think this could have been refined to allow it to be carried a little deeper. I don't consider this a real con as it works and usually I drop my knife in my pocket vs, clipping it anyway. I am glad they didnt use a black pocket clip. I also wish the standoff matched the titanium and wasn't black. Nothing wrong at all with it being black and it does look good but I think I would prefer it to match more. Again this is all subjective and minor criticism.

It is pretty comparable in size to my DPX Gear HEAT which is another small knife. I posted a few pics just to show the similar sizes. I do have larger knives I carry in my bag but for something to drop in my pocket the ZT 0900 is fantastic.

Overall this is a GREAT 'little' knife and worth the money. In fact I think its a great value for the cost considering the level of quality mine is. Definite keeper.

Awesome little knife in every way. I hadn't heard about the detent falling out. No issues with mine over several months and a couple hundred (at least) openings. Nothing worse than having your balls fall out...:D

There is a video on YouTube where a guy named Tactical loved the knife but the detent ball fell out. I am sure with any knife (just like anything else) there will be a few that have issues here and there. I know ZT has great CS and a great warranty so I didnt worry.

I had one and while I must admit it is very high quality, fit, finish, materials and sharpness, but for me I wish the blade was about half the stock thickness and the handle scales about 2/3 thier thickness, making for a lighter weight package. Mine flipped beautifully, and was super razor sharp. I just couldnt get over the weight in my pocket.

Forgot to add that I own a Les George VECP (his latest version) and it feels close to the same wight or ever so slightly heavier, but it is significantly bigger. I guess for me I have kind of an unwritten blade length to weight ratio that I stick to

I love my 900. I typically carry it as my secondary knife. I usually wear cargo pants with a lower side pocket. My top right pocket gets rotated between a couple of Hinderer knives and a couple of larger ZT's. The lower side pocket always has my 900 in it. It does great for everyday task, is fun to flip and stays nice and sharp. On top of that they are fun to anodize!

That looks amazing

I always recommend the 0900 to people. People seem to sleep in it a bit but it was my favorite of the three that came out last year.

4.3 ounces is too heavy...

And yet 5.6 ounces feels close to the same as 4.3...

If the 0900 was as thin as you wanted, it would overlap with the 0450 too much.

I would like to get a 0900. I've been looking at some of the custom anodized versions including those on your website. Does the anodizing void ZT's warranty?
