At the Shot Show yesterday I stopped by the ZT booth and played with some goodies. The 0301 and 0302 are absolutely amazing in design, feel, and they are rock solid. The guy at the booth also gave me a free shirt, which I thought was very nice. They are expected to be due out in April and MSRP is $295. I will definately have to pick one of these up. PGH~

Let us also not forget in all their knife-y glory that part of the proceeds from these knives go to help our veterans!!

ZT's gonna be another entry on the "get" list, probably have to go right up near the top.

There was a buzz going around the show about our ZT line-up. The Strider/Onion piece really caught some attention. There were a few ZT auto's on the table, a wicked little boot knife as well. We also showed Grant and Gavin's M.U.D.D. knife that we were getting opinions on. This knife has the ability to be impervious to the elements with some "seals" incorporated within the pattern. Cool stuff. The 3V fixed blade impressed the steel freaks. All in all ZT had a great splash at SHOT.

i like that zt 0300... when will this be out exactly ? and i know the msrp is $295.00 but what will it really cost ? any ideas ? also this is the strider/onion knife correct ? :)

laCie,

The 300 is the Onion/Strider collaberation. MSRP is $295, street value I don't see being too much less, as it will be limited in production, and we are also selling this to LE/Military/Public Safety outlets only. Hopefully the first articles will be shipping in 60-90 days.

I personally liked the ZT100 and ZT200.

The ZT100 is everthing that I liked about the Vertigo, but adds great steel, optimum design and ergonomics. The G-10 felt strangely like textured aluminum.

The ZT200 uses an adjustment nut that can be worked on by regular pliers. While I appreciate and agree that your average soldier needs maximum field repairability, I think that Kershaw could have included a small allen or torx wrench on a keyring, and kept the aesthetics up there. Fer goll's sake, Strider uses a SPANNER WRENCH for a pivot assembly, and I don't hear too many GI's compaining about that.

The positive side is that the ZT200 is a total tank of a knife, and I don't think that it will break very easily.

Best Regards,

The ZT line was created for Military/LE/Public Safety only, thus we want placement that will be most accessible for those types of individuals. The auto's will never be available for public consumption, but the other models will be available through more common channels down the road. As mentioned in an earlier post, the ZT line up will be limited in their availability to start, and we need to keep focused on placing them properly for those folks they were designed for.

So, the ZT300 is the only one with SpeedSafe? And the ZT200 is the only one with the clip that is reversible for left or right handed?

Dammit... Guess I'm gonna have to keep on waiting for the perfect knife.

Just what I like to see, knives I can't own cause well I am not an operator/mili/cop or what ever. Limited channels too. You guys are killin me. So if those knives are created just for that individual or group why all the public advertising? keepem sharp

longbow, it's pretty simple, we are trying to build a new brand name, and advertising is a way to do that. LE/Military/Public Safety folks read the type of magazines that ZT ad's are in. I promise not to put an ad in Men's Journal.

In my last post I mentioned that some ZT products (all of the pictured above) will be available through more common outlets, it just won't happen out of the starting line. I gotta say I love your all's enthusiasm.

Dave, the Scavenger(not pictured above) is an entry level ZT knife. It is a nasty AO tanto, Onion design. MSRP $149.95

laCie, the outlets are being established now, and we should have a better idea on dealers in the upcoming weeks.
