I'm looking at picking up a ZT 350 knife for EDC. From what I have read they are great knives but I would like the advice of people here whether they are worth the money. I can't afford the 300/301 and the 350 is the perfect size for me. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They are one of the best bangs for the buck. I used to carry one before I sold it locally after getting a custom knife. It was my EDC of choice for 8 months or so. knifeworks.com has an exclusive satin finished version if you don't like DLC. I had that satin one. The finish is excellent...it looks like it's coated, but it's not. They used a very fine bead blasting media to get that finish. The end result looks like it's covered in some clear coat, but it's not.

EDIT: I bet you can afford this 0300...slightly used. 160: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=712409

I would say they are worth every penny. They are built tough and are of good quality and the 350 is a good allround edc knife in my opinion. I have the 350 and the 300, 301,302 and the 200 and all are great knives.

I picked up a 300 for around $180 on Ebay. Love it and carry it with me every day. That being said, If I didn't get the 300, the 350 would definitely be next on my list.

Those are really good prices

I have a 200 and a 500. ZT are for real, big, tough, smooth operators. Go for that 350.

Wicked serrations on the 030x. Are they dual ground (both sides)? Who did the work?

To the OP, if you didn't recognize, the 030x he pictured is not a normal production version. The serrations are custom. The thumbstud also has some custom stuff done to it...the knurling on the top.

Yep, Tom Veff is my Neighbor and put those serrations and the knurling on. He also keeps a nice edge on my Boa.

They're single ground and extra large.

Thanks for the great info. The 350 is the best size for me, and I think I'll start surfing the Bay for good deals.

350 wasn't as strong for me atleast for how it's marketed. Got the darn thing scratching liners in no time and I didn't even abuse it.

7.8oz doesn't bother anybody for an EDC blade? That seems a bit much for EDC tasks (depending on what your EDC tasks are, I guess)...

I've had my ZT 0350 for a little while and am absolutely obsessed with it. Great, heavy duty knife that won't break the bank. I wish they would come out with a color scheme like the 0301 and 0302...so until they do, I'm planning on buying both! Get the 0350 for EDC, you won't be disappointed.

That's a good point. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it's also rather thin, or at least carries like it's much smaller than it is. I carry it loose in my pocket and I forget that it's there. I've found that some knives are like that, carrying like they are much smaller than their actual size.

The 350 is a great knife which gets much more carry than my 0200, 0301, or 0400.

So what is the reason for the big price difference between the 301/302 and the 350? I like them both both the price difference is significant enough for me to lean toward the 350. Is there any difference in quality/finish, etc?

The 0300 series has a slab of titanium for the lockside, thus it is a titanium frame lock along with the stopper to prevent hyper extension when disengaging the lock. Not to mention it's bigger :D

Additionally, the 0300 series has 3-D machining on both the Ti and G-10 (an often overlooked expense), while the 0350 has a flat G-10 scales that include a mild texture.

The 0350KW was my first ZT. It carries very well due to the flat G-10 handles. My next was the 0200. Carries fairly well, but is noticeably bigger than the 0350. Love grip of the contoured G-10 handles. I recently got both an 0300 and 0301. (The 0301 was an unexpected gift from a very generous friend.) I've been carrying one or the other for the past couple weeks and think they carry in between the 0350 and 0200 as far as comfort and noticeability in my pocket.

Price wise, the 0350 and 0200 are very close. You should check with keshawguy here in the Exchange. He's got the best prices on new and usually has blems, too. Blems of all 3 knives are very reasonable in price. My 0301 is a blem and the only problem that I can find is some printing on the blade that was left off.

I carry my 302 as an EDC. After a few days you don't even notice it. My friend loves his 200.

Great knives.
