Hi everyone. I am considering buying a ZT 0350 in m390 blade steel. As I'm sure we all know, even the best super steels suffer from a poor ht

My question is how well does ZT do their m390 ht and does anyone know what their target hardness is for it?

Thanks
Drew

I don't know what ZT's target hardness is for their M390, but my guess is that they do a great job. I have a ZT0777 M390 and it's a great steel.

Here's a great cutting test.

I have got the ZT0350M390 and I have only good things to tell about this knife
Good steel and good ergonomics

I swear I read a target hardness of 60-62 for their M390. If so, it would be perfectly fine. One does not buy a production knife to push limits of a steel. Too expensive to do so, and the buying public is ignorant when it comes to specific hardness attributes. A very hard knife would get a lot of complaints about chips and breaks, a very tough knife would get complaints about edge retention.

Juste to add that IMHO my ZT0350M390 is a better slicer than my PM2s30v (both sharpened on my spyderco sharpmaker)
