I'm thinking about buying the set. Why should I do this??? Shoot, these are thinner than the others.

And I have to have a hatchet????Why do I need a 200$ hatchet.

Help me out guys, I am haveing a hard time parting with my cash.

I wondered the same thing Nathan and decided to go ahead and purchase the entire set (including the hatchet). Here are my top ten reasons:

10 - due to the cost, they would make great users if you can force yourself to use them (heck, keep one in the car, boat, etc)
9 - might be thinner blades, however, that makes them faster
8 - still the best steel on the market (INFI)
7 - the Zero Tolerance edition is even better looking than the regular versions
6 - limited edition - so if you tire of them you can sell them a year from now for more than you paid
5 - you got to love the name! ;)
4 - you can always try throwing the hatchet
3 - they will outperform anything else at three or four times the price
2 - you'll only wind up spending the money on things that you don't enjoy half as much and which probably won't appreciate any more (like stocks)

and the number 1 reason:
1 - You know you are going to buy them sooner or later so you might as well just get it over with now ! :D

Ok, it didn't take MUCH to convince me. :D 1253.95$ covers the ZT set, another Battle Mistress and the Hatchet.

Hey, all of you people in California! Please turn up your Air Conditioners and leve the lights on! I have got to pay for some knives!

Hi Frac,

Congrats on succumbing to Contender's impressive Letterman impression. Enjoy those bodacious ZT blades!! Since you're getting the whole set plus more, please let us know which one becomes your favorite. I'm betting on the second Mistress. For us married guys, affording two Mistresses is a wild pipe dream. ;)

Yours in leaving the nuclear lights on for you,
Greg

Frac, It's 105 F. in Fresno. Doin' my part to put Busse money in your pocket! Gotta luv how economics makes the world go round and puts Busses on your belt.

FM,

to add one reason to the contender's great list: the 3/16" combined with what looks like the Busse flat grind will make the blade geometry even better cutting than the .25" stock. That, plus the nice finish on the blades should make the 3 ZTs strong slicers.

I don't plan on using the ZT knives. That's why I have a new BM to join the BA. Being a collector is a lonely job, but somebody has to do it.

No No No, you can't do this to me !!! :) I was just about done talking myself out of buying the ZT set. I ordered a Cold Steel Imperial Tai Pan, cause I have just got to have it, which of course sucked my wallet so hard it has a hickie. After this one there is no way I am going to get both of the options below, self control has to kickin somwhere...

I had narrowed it down to two set choices:

1. BM-E for my hiking, Straight handle SH to go with my recent BM purchase.

2. Busse ZT set.

Was just about to call it a done debate, then I read this thread. SO ya'll really like the ZT series that much eh? Ug, what am I going to do :)
