Two knives that look similar but are not. Pictures at photographer's base: http://www.pbase.com/dwever/le Row 6 (bottom of photo sheet) Press picture you want, under the picture there are multiple resolutions available. Use "Large", if you hit "Original" it will be extremely close-up and load slower.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief today after UPS dropped off the Zieba flipper I ordered on the Wilson Combat web page Sunday.

Relief because I had some misgivings about dropping just South of $700 on the Zieba Southern Star, with as happy as I have been with the $329 Benchmade 761 with the same materials. From pictures and materials they seemed semi-redundant; but, the weight difference seemed to be a giveaway they are not redundant. They are not. Once you actually hold them, by comparison the Zieba is massive, both blade, frame, and weight. Blade is not only slightly longer (3.73 vs. 4.0"), but thicker.

The Zieba punched my list: Raw titanium frame-lock, M390 (or CPM-20CV), longer blade, but about an ounce away from being too much knife for EDC. I think it is exactly right though, especially up here in Alaska where big knives are not uncommon carries.

My Zieba is the Wilson Combat version, raw titanium, and the WC logo on the clip. Knight Knives is engraved on one side of the blade, Zieba on the other. Curiously, the M390 steel on the new knife is not as sharp as the Benchmade 761, but close. Also, I love the bigger size of the Zieba/Knight: I take an XL glove, and sometimes XXL, so I am very thankful for how substantial this beast is.

The fit, manufacturing, feel of quality is just really everything you could want. Now that it's been in my hands, assuming the continued quality associated with Michael Zieba and Jason Knight, I'm perfectly fine with the price and think it was well worth it.

That's it for now.

Glad you love it!

Per Michael Zeiba his knives are made by him, they are not "manufactured". His knives are a great value. I was told by another maker he even makes the fancy plastic cases. He has works in a building where they share access to equipment.

Here the pictures for the lazy people:

(Figured those versions are large enough.)

Glad you're happy with your purchase.
