Just got a Kershaw Zing PE with G10 scales and cant get it flip like the other Kershaws I have. I have loosend the pivot a fair bit but still no flip. Anyone else have this happen with their Zing. Nice knife by the way with a great pocket clip but a bit smaller than I expected.

It it new or used? If used, I would take it apart and clean it, it can work wonders. If new, I would go to a B&M knife store and handle a Zing there an compare the flipping action to see if it's the knife or your technique that's defficient.

Brand new. I checked in around the pivot and put a light drop of militech oil in and worked it a few dozen times buy hand but still no different to out of the box.

That actually happened to me, the zing has a sort of sweet spot. I actually had to tighten mine out of the box to get it to flip right. Just mess around with the pivot tension itll flip right eventually

i picked mine up in the the store flipped it open and my decision was made... flips open with a real authority if you get it right

Ive been loosening mine at the pivot maybe Ill try tightening it a bit

The Zing flipper actually works by pushing the flipper in and not down. This builds up a little tension which then causes it to flip open. There should be a little instruction card in the box that shows this. If you loosen the pivot too much, you won't build up the needed pressure for it to filp right.

With the zing, you must use the pressure build-up technique (Pressing forward on the flipper, then rapidly letting all of the tension make the blade fly out by slowly rocking your index finger back.) Another way to do it is to push the flipper "straight into the handle"

Good luck. :)

I find it flips like the Storm II, I use my index finger pushing the flipper and with my thumb pushing the thumb stud at the same time.
No it doesn't fly out of my hand , the other three fingers hold the knife. :D
It's really fast this way.
They do work easier with use.
