I just purchased a new Kershaw Zing knife. I like the knife and think it will be a great EDC for light to medium daily task. I have a Spyderco Sharpmaker which I use to sharpen my knives. What would the factory angle be on the Zing ?. Would I use the 30 deg. ( 15 deg. each side ) or the 40 deg. ( 20 deg. ) each side ?. I would like to get it as close to the factory angle as possible. I have other knives for heavier jobs and use the Zing for general letter opening, box and package opening etc.. Thanks for any info. or opinions that you have. David

David, use a sharpie and check the 40 inclusive setting first. I'd bet that's the closest to the factory bevel.

Thanks for the Welcome Mat. I will try the marker on the blade. I have been looking at the forums for a while and usually have found what I wanted without posting. I have some Benchmades,Spyderco and CRKT knives. The Zing was the first Kershaw I bought. I have been impressed with the Kershaw Quality and great models. There are several more models of Kershaws that I would like to have.I am intrested in the new 14C28N steel and how it is compares to other company knife steels in the same price range or composition. I have read a few reviews, and am sure there will be more later since this is a new steel for Sandvik and Kershaw.I think all of my knives will be Kershaw,as once again I'm impressed with the quality and price , David
