have any of the Kershaw Zings hit the brick 'n mortar crowd yet? I've been drooling over RJ Martin's customs for a while now, and randomly stumbled upon the Zings on the KAI website today. I really want to get my hands on one of these knives!

Not yet to my knowledge. Last word from Thomas was that he was confident they'd be out this month.

Ya'll don't be afraid to do a little looking before starting another "when is this knife gonna be out" thread. There is a sticky thread at the top of the forum that Thomas updates with delivery dates. Im a little grumpy because the Giants embarrassed themselves and me tonight.

To answer your question, the zings should ship in October, but they haven't yet.

Oct. is gonna be pushed right now, but if it doesn't make it, early Nov. for sure.

All that orange and black.........
If they make it by Halloween I'm gonna throw one in every kids sack/basket that comes to the door.
"There ya go kid, it won't rot your teeth."

I suspect that if you do that, we'll be reading about you in the news. :(

I looked in the delivery dates thread and there wasn't a solid date... I was trying to see if that's still the case... I'll take it to that thread next time... sorry

Oh don't give Jeremy no nevermind No bOOst, he's just upset with the blowout loss of the Giants. :D

Oh, did the Giants play last night? I thought they let the New Jersey School for Blind Paraplegic Women play the Browns last night.

Sorry I took it out on you boost.

No, those folks from the school were actually playing on defense for the Patriots Sunday night against San Diego. The QB might have been one too. :barf:

I doubt it, but man wouldn't it be nice? I know the Groove is a smooth opening folder but perhaps those type of close-close-close tolerances aren't feasible on a full production knife?

It would be neat - that's one of my favorite things about the Flipper RJ Martin's.

no offense taken! I see this thread has taken on a life of it's own, anyway.

Will it have the same strong ball detent like the RJ Martin custom?

If it's going to get the same action as the custom Zing then I think it would have a pretty good detent. Combine that with a really smooth pivot and you get the nice quick pop of an opening. Kershaw has made a lot of different flipper mechanisms from different makers work really well in production knives, so I have every confidence the Zing will follow suit.

I handled the prototype and RJ's flippers at Blade 08-all I can say is awsome for both!

I shall have maybe 2 of each soon!

Just cut some more Zing blades.
