A WS&S member asked me to post up how i tie my zipper pulls as seen on many of my packs, bags, knives and pouches.

so here it is

Start with a length of paracord. Seal the ends with a lighter to prevent unraveling:

thread thru lanyard tube or zipper, leaving about 8" on the bottom, and more on top:

pull the top piece UNDER the bottom piece:

and BACK OVER again:

REPEAT about 5 - 8 times:

on the last loop, pull the cord BETWEEN the upper and lower cord:

and PUSH THRU the loops, one at a time:

go thru all the loops and pull out of the end:

pull snug with both hands and work the slack out of the loops:

what you will end up with:

trim the excess, leaving about 5mm

melt the end with a lighter, and wet your thumb, pressing on the hot blob

Thanks for the "essay".
Have you had any problems with the standing end pulling through? ...or does the large melted end prevent that?

nope, when you dress the end and pull tight it snugs up extremely tight. It will not back out.

Excellent tutorial! was exactly what i have been looking for and wasn't able to find.
Thanks

Bushman, that made no sense to me, your going to have to send that knife, and the lanyard attached so I can take a look at it. :D

Thats the tutorial I wanted .But would not ask for.
Thanks

Good tip -- thanks!

This comes out much neater than the other way I've tied a similar noose knot (beginning the wraps at the loop end and working toward the knot). This is much more elegant when finished off, and it stays tighter.

Thanks!
