I would never suggest deleting old threads...the very thought of it reminds me of the burning library scene out of Name Of The Rose...there is a wealth of knowledge to be had when searching out answers to specific knifey questions.
Then theres Zombie threads which are unearthed by well meaning curious people merely seeking information. Nothing wrong with that....but..."resurrection" should not occur. There are 2 main reasons :
Some of the contributors have moved on to the big cutlery firm in the sky.
Most of the pictures are gone.

Meako how do we resolve this conundrum? I hear you ask.
Well its easy with my 2 stage plan...
1. Read old thread

Rule of thumb: For long standing members if its before the date you joined.
Newer members, greenhorns and flippers. 2 years old.

2.Start new thread of your own on the subject of interest...the responses will be fresher and by all means link to threads of the past..for those of us who enjoy wandering alone in the crypt.😦😁
Just a suggestion
Cheers.

... here's an old picture I resurrected just for this thread, because pictures ...

When you wrote this did you imitate Sean Connery?

Truly and honest I didn't see this until after I bumped it ... My apologies
No need to aporlogizshe( dam ive turned into sean connery again)

Why do you want more rules? If it bothers you don't read or post. Some old threads are like old friends...
Yes and its all covered in my 2 stage plan.

Yesh...the only actor with less vocal flexibilty was Bronson.

I have dug up and brought threads back to life before reading the original post date, it just happens sometimes! I feel especially foolish when reading old threads and thinking something along the lines of “they said it just like I would” before noticing I was reading a 10 year old post that I had made…

There should be a similar rule about ‘liking’ old posts. Or just have it that you don’t get notified when someone does it.

When I get notified of likes I often go to that thread to see if someone has followed up with a reply or a comment, so when the like is an old post buried deep in an old thread, its kind of a hassle to get notified that someone liked it.

I go see what I posted, if it's a thread I don't remember posting in ... You might be familiar the "Huh? I posted in that thread?!? What did I say?!?" shock. 😇

This thread is very much off-topic. It might be a better discussion to have in Technical? Just a thought 👍
