I just traded for a ZT 450 in this steel. It looks to be carbon steel which I like. Has anyone else used this steel and do you like it? If you use the sharpmaker on this steel do you need to use the diamond rods or just the medium one for touch ups?

It's a high chromium only carbide steel, the Spyderco ceramic sharpmaker abrasives work fine. Diamond/CBN isn't required for best and longest lasting edge like some other steels, but can speed things up, especially resetting bevels and edge damage repair.

That's the beauty of this steel. It doesn't require diamond, it's all chromium carbides at high volume with a hard matrix. High quality ceramic eats it no biggie.
