ZT 0100 Chop/Baton Wood?

I've had my eye on the ZT 0100 for a while now (LOVE ZT, recurves and 3V) as I'm looking to acquire a couple very stout fixed blades that will not only cut/slice very well but also be more than capable to handle any camping tasks such as processing wood. I have a Justin Gingrich Forged GTI Renegade Hawk that handles chopping duties very well BUT I need to get a couple fixed blades that "could" fill that roll if needed

Honestly I'm looking for an excuse to buy the 0100 but if processing wood is out of the scope of its capabilities since its designed as more of a battle/tactical blade for lack of a better term then I'm not sure that I'll be able to justify the purchase. I've seen where some have recommended the Busse TGLB instead ($200 more than the 0100) and I do plan on picking up a G10 handled TGLB as well...thinking the two would make a great pair of stout and very handy fixed blades.

You can buy the 0100 cheaper now than a couple years ago and this has caught my attention and has me very interested but only if the 0100 is good at more than slicing...not that there's anything at all wrong with a knife that actually cuts. I've never handle this knife and wondered if it was too short to be used for camping duties.

Thanks for any insight you can provide...hoping that some here have and actually use this model and can speak to how it preforms as a camp knife.

I have one; it is too thick behind the edge to be a slicer and too short to be a good chopper imo... It is still a really nice blade though and once reprofiled will work a lot better at both tasks.

Check out some of the YouTube vids on the 0100 for an idea on what to expect.

I have a tglb as well, it would easily work instead of getting both knives so choose wisely. I thinned the edge a bit on mine on the edgepro and it performs really well now.

I'm ordering the TGLB in Tanker Gray and Black G10 but there's something about the ZT 0100 that I've always liked...I like a lot of Ken Onion designs (and ZT knives) so that's probably it. I didn't realize that the 0100 was only 10.50" long until recently but it "looks" like it would still be a great performer. The thing is I've never seen a picture of the 0100 looking down at the spine so I'm not sure how thin it is on top...it doesn't weight that much more than my 0121 even though its a couple inches longer...I'll check it out on YouTube. Thanks.

Good choice on getting the TGLB! It's a stellar, beefy blade and is one of my favourite mid length blades.

The ZT0100 is a very nice knife as well but does need to have the edge modified to get the most out of it...

Thanks for the pics! I'm checking out video's on Youtube of the 0100...looks like it'll process wood just fine for a blade this size.
