ZT 0200, 0300: How thick and heavy is too thick and heavy?

I've become intrigued lately with the ZT 0200 and 0301/0302, but I haven't been able to see one of these knives in person and I'm having a hard time convincing myself that I would want to carry one of them in my front pocked on a daily basis. They both weigh right around half a pound, and the 0200 looks noticeably thicker in the pictures and videos I've seen. In fact, the 0300 knives don't really look too thick to be comfortable, whereas the 0200 looks excessively thick. They're all pretty heavy, though.

Undoubtedly, a lot of you carry these knives daily (or at least frequently), so I was hoping you could give me some idea as to what I should expect.

BTW, I frequently wear either jeans, which don't have a lot of room in the front pockets to begin with, or I wear khakis, which have more room in the pockets. I have a full-size Griptilian that I often carry (unclipped) inside my khakis pocket and it's not a problem for me.

I would have no problem carrying my ZT0300s because of thickness...because of the weight, dress slacks would probably be an issue with respect to pocket sag, but jeans or khakis, etc. would be no problem.

No 0200 here, so I can't address its carryability...;)

Ray :)

ZT0200 here and in the EDC rotation. it carries VERY well for a large knife. i love it :D it should fit fine in your pockets

I have an 0200.Although it's one of my favorite folders,I regretably admit it doesn't get carried as much as others, because of it's size.

Agreeing with all, I don't EDC my 0200 that much because of the size. I tend to stay closer to the Blur, Boa, Mini Cyclone, aluminum handled Speed Bump, and my favorite the big ENER-G.

However, when going camping, the 0200 is in my pocket at all times. It's a horse of a knife.

At its thickest, the ZT0200 is 11/16". I really, really like big folders, and the 200 is a winner, with excellent ergonomics. But it is big & heavy. Still, I found I liked the feel of the 200 better than the 300, which has a wider handle.

I have a ZT 0400 in my EDC rotation and it carries well for a knife of its size in jeans or cargoes.

This a good subject, I had the same questions as stanton2. Didn't have the chance to handle either. So:
DOES ANYONE HAVE A PHOTO OF THEM SHOWING THE THICKNESSES?

If I ever fall into a lake or river, I'm screwed, as I'd sink right to the bottom. My EDC is my ZT 0200, my Kershaw Groove, and my Leatherman Wave (not to mention my Glock G20, spare magazine, and small Streamlight flashlight).

My ZT 0200 might be thick & heavy, but I never leave home without it.

D K,
That is a super job of mod'n the 302, I really like the blade grind. No pic's of both of them toghter?

After 2 weeks of using my 0200 as my edc, i have to say it's not bad at all. Going from a 3 or 4 ounce knife to a almost 8 ounce knife takes some getting used to, but now it's very comfortable. The only problem i had was i had to move my tin of skoal to my left pocket, damn knife!

My wardrobe includes the same, jeans and khakis, and the 0200 does ride a little more comfortabley in the khakis than the jeans, but not enough that I would have problems with carrying it in jeans. Have jeans on now and am carrying a Strider AR in my right front pocket, with no problems.

I've been carrying my 0200 since I got it about a month ago. I wear jeans daily, so it doesn't cause problems there. My only complaint is that it's hard to get my big hands into my pocket to grab my keys past the 0200 - however, I'm getting used to it and before long probably won't notice.

It's definately not a deal-breaker for me. I consider this my "end all - be all" edc knife, and feel very fortunate that several people on these boards reccomended it to me.

In fact - I'm stuck debating whether to order some model of 0300, or just buying a second 0200 as backup. Definately try it out.

The 0301 has been a pretty comfortable carry for me in the left front pocket of jeans and cargo pants. I carry it tip down with the spine of the blade against the seam. The wide flat to gently rounded shape makes it a less abrupt shape/outline in the pocket.

The short clip makes most people expect a much smaller knife.

Sorry, didn't have time to do anything fancy, so these are a bit rough.

Thanks for those pictures, kneedeep. Is the blade of the 0200 as far off-center as it looks, or is that distortion from the camera angle? I know that liner lock knives often have their blades pushed off center by the force of the liner when they're closed, but the blade displacement looks excessive in your picture (that's why I thought it might be an illusion).

it looks like an illusion to me. like you said, the angle. its enough to change the look
