i just recently bought a zt 0200, i am the rescue and survivial petty officier at my unit so i order things for are boarding team and boatcrews, i was so impressed with the 0200 i put in a procurment for 22 for our boat crew, now its a waiting game for the approval from up top. just thought i would express my thoughts and likes about the zt 0200.

Good luck with the procurement, you guys deserve the best equipment available!

i agree, it's a super tough folder and an excellent value.

just wondering, what type of lubricant/protectant will you be using? i would think that it will be subjected to quite a bit of salt spray.

i've found breakfree clp to work well; also eezox and corrosionx.

i live in florida and swim in the ocean w/ my knives and, man, that sea water is really potent stuff as far as promoting rust, it will eat 'em up fast if they are not rinsed w/ fresh water pretty soon after exposure.

I swim with my knives in the Gulf also. The salinity is usually in the 30-33% range. I have found that Marine Tuf Cloth works the best for me. My H-1 blades are my only ones that don't need saltwater maintenance.

the knives are cleaned with a oil we use on our guns, yes the ocean is a detructive force on metal, but i have confidence in the 0200

Our unit (Police) is also in the SAR business among other things. We've bought Kershaw before and are looking into a unit purchase of 32 0200's as well. A great knife for the price. Having a tough time explaining why we need a $150.00 knife to the brass, but I think we'll get approval.

Our knives and multi tools get a couple of drops of CLP every once in awhile when cleaning our firearms.
