I heard ZT is switching over to a higher production facility due to the continued success of their knives - and in the interim it seems to be very difficult to find any webstore that has them in stock.

Anyone know of any e-stores that are still showing them in stock?

Although this thread should be in the GB&U when looking for places to buy, I'd
like to know where you heard that ZT is moving to a new facility.

Hi Toyz,

All of the ZT knives have and will continue to be produced at our Kai-USA facility in Tualatin, Oregon

Thanks for the lead - I got one coming - they had one left in stock (soon to be mine).

I checked several sources and all others were out of stock.

I do not want to get anyone in hot water - I know someone who owns/operates a knife store and is a ZT retailer (also out of stock). He said the success of the ZT line was the reason why they were changing facilities. He in no way insinuated that the knives were going to be made outside the USA. He said they needed a way to increase production.

Sounded logical to me, as I already own the 0301 and the 0500, and am struggling to find the 0200. Other than Victorinox, this is the first time I have bought three knives from the same manufacturer in less than one year.

Keep em coming....

It seems like lots of people are having trouble finding ZT knives. I just looked at a bunch of places and they were all in stock. Maybe you were un-lucky and they were out of stock when you looked.

Thanks for the info Tommie. Nice work on your new stuff.

Toyz, you won't be disappointed with the 0200 it is one fine knife.

Some places appear to have them in stock, but I called every place I looked only to find that they were on backorder.

I am impatient when it comes to buying knives - when I have a certain model in my sights I want it and can't wait for weeks.

I admit I did not try every place - I tried around 6 places before posting as I figured my forum brethren would know where to go.

To be candid, I pushed myself financially (push with a smaller "P") to acquire my 0301, 0350, 0200 and 0400, and I don it regret it one bit. My only regret is that I haven't snagged the 0500 and it's apparently on the endangered species list. These knives deserve 100% of the accolades that they receive.

Mods - please move this if I failed to post in the proper category.

If you can pick up a MUDD I highly recommend it. I like it so much and am so impressed with the 154CM blade that I want the 0200.

I've always liked 154CM - my first real folder (BM) is 154CM, is around 14 years old and still going strong.

I've seen(on this forum) some of the "new" offerings planned and that's all good...but I hope they are planning to continue the original beefy ZT line.

Picked up a 0200 last week and its stout. Still want to get a 030x series one too.

You may have seen these - there are 3 or 4 videos on Youtube where a west coast knife e-company used a 0100, 0200 and 0301 in some crazy tests.

They were not scientific tests, but the knives stood up to a LOT more than I would throw at them.

They hammered the knives thru copper pipe and bolts!!
