I seem to have alot of side to side blade play on this knife. I have the pivot so tight that the flipper is almost usless, i really have to give it a good wrist flick also. Is this normal on these knives or is there a problem. Im starting to think that Benchmades are the only knife worth buying.

send it to Kershaw. they will take care of it for you. you wont find better CS. BY NO MEANS IS THAT NORMAL. i have a 0200, and its perfect. no play.

eh it happens to the best of them. Kershaws are excellent knives. Just talk to Kershaw about your 0200 and you will be taken care of.

I have a pair of ZT 0200 (both are 07/07), and neither one has ANY blade-play, and both open very smoothly. Send yours back to Kershaw (ZT) and they'll make it right for you...Either that, or take it apart yourself, clean out the pivot area, polish out any rough areas, and maybe that'll fix it for you. Sometimes just taking a folder apart, then putting it back together can fix the problem.

Send it to Kershaw man! By the way, all companies have their occasional lemon, Kershaw's warranty is the best in the business that I have come across. Benchmade still charges you 5 bucks--Kershaw is totally free

Could be a cracked pivot washer...that can happen, and with any brand. Kershaw's customer service will take care of it for you, along with any other problems with their products.

Just as a point of interest, do you own any other Kershaw/Zero Tolerance knives? I have about 50 of them, and have experienced (readily fixed) issues with only a couple...are you actually interested in a solution or just looking to push your favorite brand, obviously Benchmade, at the expense of Kershaw?

Ray :)

Why would you question if im interested in a solution? seems like a pretty stupid thing to say. The reason i made the benchmade comment is i have recently bought the 0200 along with a spyderco, and both have what i think is alot of blade play, my benchmade knives have never had a problem like this.

I don't really have a favorite brand yet thats why i am trying diffrent brands. So far benchmade is my favorite. Let me know if you have any more accusations to make.

To the others who gave a helpful reply, i have sent them a email and im sure the problem will be solved. They sound like a good company to deal with.

Thanks for everyones time! doug

Well...I notice you didn't answer my question.

I'll ask another...how many Benchmade knives do you own? Or Spydercos? I'm trying to get a feel for whether or not you're in a position to make a really valid brand comparison or indictment, which is exactly what you took pains to do...

Sorry if I offended you...NOT...

Ray you didn't offend me, and i feel no need to answer your questions. My question was answered and now its time to move on ray. :jerkit:

Lose the jerkits. We get too much of this crap in here. If you have a question ask it. If all you want to do is indict the first kershaw you have owned as the reason you should never stray from BM, take a hike.

My question has been asked, and answered. My opinion is just that, MY OPINION, and i don't need anyones aproval of it. My first experience with kershaw and spyderco knives has not been a positive one. As for the attitudes i got from reholli and spiralarchitect, i feel they are unnecessary and i have notified the moderators of their actions.

It's time for everyone to take a deep breath and calm down. Be nice to eachother or take it to email or PM.

I've had hundreds of knives of all brands and types(literally) and this problem is a freak occurance for a ZT. As stated by others... Kershaw will fix this fast.

I've seen it where guys take their knives down to clean them and forget to install a washer in the pivot or think they got it on there but didn't only to have it fall out later unbeknownst to the owner. This can lead to your symptoms of play once the washer falls out.

Its also possible for other things to happen like stop pins shifting or not being placed correctly. If you had it apart recently or if you bought it used that may be the issue you are dealing with.
