I searched and couldn't find a comparison. I have the ZT and I love it but,I like the way the super commander looks.
So how do they compare?
Is the super commander any better? Ergo, build quality?
Thanks,
Rob

Both are great knives but the Emerson is lighter and the wave is THE fastest deployment. My 0200 is left in my truck. My Emerson is a regular edc for me.

Thanks. I should've mentioned I've already waved the ZT. Like you said it is much thicker. Would you say the lock is as strong as the ZT?

zt is lower in price, and they have the same steel i believe. correct me if im wrong, so to me the zt is a better bargain for your money, but the emerson super commander is a emerson and you know that name goes a long way. both excellent blades IMO.

I'd certainly agree with that. The Emerson is way out of its price range for a 154CM knife that occasionally has QC issues. I'm not sure that you're getting any more for your money quality wise as you would with a larger volume production folder. The 0200 I know has good ergos, with the 3D machining and large finger choil. I haven't had a chance to hold a Super Commander, but I can't imagine that the flat handles on it would be more comfortable than the 0200's handles felt when I tried it out.

I own a ZT and an Emerson. The ZT is hands down a tougher knife. Liners are thicker. Locks up tighter. Built like a little tank. The only drawback is the weight if that is an issue for you. If not, ZT all the way.

I don't own a commander, but have had to fix / sharpen them for buddies. I found the same to be true. Stick with the ZT. (chisel edges are also wonky)

Care to share some Photos? :)

If the comparison may help I have a ZT200 and a mini 15. I personally find the ZT better in terms of fit and finish. The blade locks solid and doesn't move around while in the closed position.
Ergos would have to go with the ZT. The 3d scales feel great and really improved grip when I was doing some work with gloves.

As soon as I get home I'll post a few shots of the wave.
Sounds to me I already have the best heavy duty knife for the money
Thanks,
Rob

I have the Commander and the 200st.
The Emmerson is a good "fighting" knife, light, strong point, long edge... But it's not an EDC. The chisel edge on a "S" blade is definitely a bad mix.
If you want a better design, take a look at the CQC11.
When you need a had use knife, the ZT 200 is one of the best choice.
ZT with a wave opener, this is a GOOD idea, want to see it

The 0551 & the 0550 seem to be hard to find. I like the way it looks too

Put up a "want to buy" in the appropriate subforum and you'll probably get a few offers. The second batch of 0551's are shipping to distributors so I'd check in with them as well.

As promised a few pictures of the waved zt 0200

very nice Emerson, I'll probably order one tomorrow. My wife says I have a problem but she supports my hobby. Can't complain about that!
