ZT 0200KW - Pics, groveling request for Kershaw Admin

Hey guys, I just got an early Christmas present, the ZT0200KW. As you can imagine, I'm floating on cloud 9 right now. When I first saw the 0200, I fell in love with the design, & felt like the black blade was a compromise on what otherwise could have been PERFECT. Unless I'm mistaken, a stonewashed blade is not a normal option for the ZT0200. I actually had no idea it was even available in a limited run.

So, my question is, am I the only one who thinks that a stonewashed blade on the 0200 is one of the greatest things ever & should be a standard option for the 0200? If it were, I'd probably buy one for every room of the house, and maybe one for the car :D... To the Kershaw admin: Any possibility for this to happen?

Anyway, happy Friday everyone, thanks in advance for your opinions... Now on to the lo-fi amateurish pics (hopefully they capture what I'm beaming about).

If it was "standard", the knife would cease to be a limited edition. Right? Trying to think about this from a logical perspective, what am I missing? You already have one stonewashed, and have the option to buy as many more as you could ever want. I'm missing something aren't I?

Almost every time I check the Knifeworks website, this item is out of stock. Perhaps I just haven't checked often enough, giving me a false sense that this knife was only occasionally available. Furthermore, I called them and they told me that when they do have the ZT0200KW in stock, it's the bead-blasted blade, not stonewashed. The knife in the pics above has the IDENTICAL stonewashed finish to my 0560. Make sense?

Hey that looks slightly similar to the 0200 I picked up today!;-)

Cheers!

Do you think that KW has been mistakenly calling this model "Bead Blasted" instead of stonewashed? Or maybe at some point, the production of these switched from bead-blasted over to stonewashed? Hmmm... I'd be interested to know. In any case I'm happy to have one, and if/when I can afford another one at some point down the line, I hope the stonewashed finish will still be readily available.

Im not possitive since I got this one direct from the zt warehouse and not through KW. You might want to call Roger there at KW and ask. Its probably just a typo.

I would have bought one on KW a long time ago if I'd have known that they were stonewashed and not bead blasted. I hate bead blasts.

My KW was bead blasted...but I have the old school green box.. Maybe they changed with the new ones

I guess my eyes weren't playing tricks on me when I thought I'd seen bead-blasted blades on the KW models until spotting pics of stoneswashed blades on KWs just recently. What's the serial number on your 0200KW? Mine came in the black box, serial number 0688.

I have one. I like it better than the black blade also. That's the only reason I bought it instead of buying from a seller that supports this site. I couldn't get it anywhere else. Love it. Serial #636.

Mine 0200KW is Serial #179. It really looks more like a satin finish, especially compared to my 1596SW Spec Bump. I picked up the 0200KW quite a while back. If I would have had the money 4 or 5 more Spec Bumps would have been bought as they were going for $50 at the time.

An image search shows that there apparently has been a shift in the blade finish provided to Knifeworks for this particular model. Here's a shot of an earlier serial numbered ZT0200KW that looks bead-blasted instead of stonewashed (still loooks great, just not my ultimate preference):

They probably did the same thing as they did with the 0350KW models. The first run of those was bead blasted and the newer run is stone washed. I have one of each of the 350s and the stone washed is much nicer.

I just received my 0200 this morning and after seeing those photos it makes me realize that this DLC needs to come off this blade lol.

I have a 0350KW and a 0200KW and both WERE bead blasted.
I softened the G-10 and polished the blades on both knives. I don't particularly care for stone wash or bead blast and especially not DLC.
