I would like to get feedback from all of you here in the Kershaw ZT forum's on a couple of sheaths for the 0300 folder and the ZT 0100 fixed blade.
Both are Level II retention utilizing an integral user manipulated lock of my design.
The ZT 0300 is a lefty and was set up with a Tek Lok for belt carry.
The ZT 0100 was set up with 2 Molle Lok's to be carried on a Vickers Molle belt.
Any comments and any questions will be answered.
Thanks to all of you in advance who take the time to look and comment.

I have a 0300 and a 0302 that I carry quite often. The weight doesn't bother me at all.

I like your sheath but I think that too much of the knife sticks out of the sheath. If I was having a sheath made I'd like just enough of the knife

handle sticking out of the sheath to grab and pull out...probably from the first bend just below the clip screws. I've never had or needed a sheath for a folder.

The handle would be protected more and be more secure in the sheath. IMO

In that I just received my sheath from Kevin, I'll jump in with my experience . As can be seen from the pic of my sheath, mine is set up with a paddle and it just slips, securely into my pants. It will lock onto my belt if I'm wearing one but I don't believe the belt is necessary. I like this easy on. easy off feature. I may, at some point, set it up to attach to an AK47 chest rig using a Tek-Lok.

Here's how mine works. There is a small section of Kydex that clips the front and back panels of the sheath together, tightening the sheath. To insert the knife into the sheath, I unclip this piece from the sheath's back panel. Then the knife will slide into the sheath. With the knife in the sheath, I just reattach the clip to the back panel and that secures the knife into the sheath. The knife will not come out of the sheath unless that little clip is removed from the back panel. It is a very secure arrangement and I like it.

I don't carry folders in sheaths, so I can't comment on the 300's other than that I think you have great style and have included a lot of good features.

The 0100 sheath though looks great, quite functional and I like your approach on the drain holes.

The pocket carry weight for the 300 series is only bothersome when I wear a thinner pant like a khaki or dress pant, which is rare. For the occasion when I would want to carry a 300 series with a thinner pant, like mentioned above, I would like a more hidden knife sheath for the 300 series. Make it look like a cell phone carrier so not to scare sheeple.

As for the ZT100. I would think the market would be limited because the price to blade length ratio is very off putting. You get a 5.75 inch blade for $200+ dollars when a BK 5 or BK7 has more reach for more than half price and a more useful edge. BUT,,, I would like a better sheath for MY ZT100, but the fact that I would need to use a molle belt to carry the knife is rather off putting because it severely limits when I would be able to carry the knife, honestly, only in a military setting. I think having a kydex sheath for the zt100 in a drop leg fashion would be better.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to look and comment.

Besides weight other issues that people site for wanting a sheath for their folder have been more room in pockets, less wear and tear on pockets, the ability to carry in a more convenient location, the ability to carry more than one item such as a light and quicker deployment.
I know that everyone may not consider any of the above mentioned reasons warrant the use of a sheath, however everyone is different, I myself carry my EDC and light in a sheath due to three of the above, Knife and Light, I prefer small of the back carry and speed of deployment.
I can design the sheath to cover as much or as little of the knife within reason, I need enough covered to fabricate the lock which at minimum would be 1/3rd.

Thanks Much for your input and thanks for taking the time to comment.

I have engineered a minimalist sheath, it dosent look like a cell phone but it is very low profile, I will attach a pic.
The Molle carry mode on the above 0100 was the option that the operator wanted, I am not limited to it , I have done Tek Lok, inverted Molle, Drop leg, vertical/horizontal, I will attach a pic of a drop leg.
The attached photo's are Benchmade Bone Collector horizontal carry/ J Macnees Chopper in a drop leg with mag pouch attachment.

Thanks Again to all of you, I am continually looking for ways to improve the user experience with my designs.

I can speak from experience also.... The first pic in Kevin's post.... The 301 sheath.....I believe that is mine when Kevin sent me photos of finished product.
I have 2 sheaths for my 301 and love the way they ride, lock the knife in place.... And appearance wise they are tough to beat.
The photos don't do them justice.
I carry my big smart phone in my left pocket and with the 301 in the sheath..... Dont have to worry about damaging the phone screen.
The knife is great but the sheath completes the package.....I wear the sheath every day and it makes for easier access than riding in the pocket..... Make edc'ing my ZT a pleasure.
Thanks again for such a cool product.
