Guys, I have been living with my ZT0300 for about 3 months now. So far I love the knife. It is very strong, durable and beefy. I havent "hard used" it yet, mostly just every day cutting chores. Well I took it apart for the first time today to grease the torsion bar, it was starting to rattle. I also cleaned every thing and lubed the pivot points. Overall I think its a beast. The one thing I have noticed though, is that on a few of my ZT's, where the pivot bolt and the lanyard holes are drilled, there is what looks like some chipping or pitting inside of these holes. I dont know if it is due to the fact that Titanium is a pain to machine, dull cutting tools or the material is brittle. I have some ZT's with this "chipping" and some without. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Any info??

It sounds like you are describing an effect known as 'spalling', which can occur quite readily in Titanium. Not a manufacturing defect, just a fact of life.

So no big deal then??? It just looks like pitting or littl "bubbles" of material are missing. They are very "rounded" looking pits.
