I've handled the 300 and owned a 200. Good knives. I do see one in my future. I would like to drastically modify it though.

You all remember this Skirmish?

Basically, I want the same thing done to the 300. My photoshop abilities are non existent so I won't bother trying a chop. In addition to the removal of blade material, I'd also like to flat grind the main edge and a convex ground sharpened swedge leaving an inch of "safe" area near the thumbstud.

I don't remember if the thumbstud is also the stop pin. If the knife has a stop pin, then I'd like to remove the stud and have a wave cut in.

I know this will cost me more than a little bit and I'm prepared to pay that. Any suggestions on who could help me with this would also be appreciated.

Can a mod please move this to Prac Tac?

edit: ok... maybe not

I want it as simple as possible. Why AO when you can wave?

I think waving an assisted opener would be a little dangerous........good luck though!

Just to clear things up...
AO mechanism gets removed, wave gets added.

Thanks

Thanks ^

With this project, I'm hoping to come off with an excellent pikal knife. It would wave on the forward draw into a pikal grip. With a chunk of the blade removed, it would also have a more acute point. Partial double edge would make it sorta like a weehawk.
