hey, so i have been playing with my ZT 0301 a lot since I bought it a few months back... and now it is insanely sluggish. Without risk flick the blade will often fail to deploy fully. You think the torsion bar is broken, or could does it just need some lube? Ever heard of this before/experience it themselves?

It probably just needs to be cleaned and lubed. If the torsion bar is broken, it should be pretty obvious, but they can weaken over time. You can get a new one... just go to this page, click on "Warranty Service/Parts" and fill out the info. (Always good to have a spare anyway). If you take apart the knife, make sure the blade is open to the point there is no tension on the bar. It's a simple fix.

I wouldn't recommend loosening the pivot as a solution on a knife that has otherwise been working without it having been tightened at some point... it may perform better short term, but it's not a proper fix. Clean and lube would be my first recommendation.

My 301 also had real slow deployment. I took it apart to find grease packed around the torsion bar. I cleaned the geese off and lubed it up. The blade on the 301 flies out now.

The lube probably did it... the grease around the torsion bar in part keeps the bar from rattling when the knife is closed (although it doesn't take a whole lot).

Yeah... mine rattles lol always assumed it was the torsion bar good to know now for sure.
