If all bleishes look like this good then bring on the blemishes.

Exactly. The last Blem ZT 0300 I had came with a blem so insignificant I didn't even find it for several weeks. It ended up being a VERY minor recess in the blade steel compared to the plane of the rest of the blade surface. It was about 1/8" long and 1/16" wide. I had to hold the blade at just the right angle and lighting to see it. It looked more like a very small wave in the blade steel. The Tungsten DLC coating hid it nearly 99% or more.

The biggest issue with blems are the no warranty.

In what regard? If you break a clip, Kershaw will send you a new one. If you strip a screw, again the same thing. Need PB washers? Torsion bar? Call and they will send them to you.

If you end up screwing up the frame by batoning thru frozen locust or snapping off the tip because you used it as a pry bar, that's your fault. Is it worth the trade-off price-wise for what you give up in warranty? Absolutely. If you know how to properly use a knife.

I have a 0302, 0200 and Volt blem that see regular use. Never had a moments problem with them.

I guess it depends how cheap you get the knife for. I agree, I doubt anything would fail on a ZT knife. I would thing resale/trade value would take a big hit.

The 0300 series is my favorite and I will not get rid of them. Most of my knives are users and the blem is a nice way to get a couple for almost the price of one.

I have never broken a knife that was used for its intended purpose. Let me rephrase that, I have never broken a well built knife that was used for its intended purpose.

It is one of Kershawguys. I will not use anybody else at this time as he reponds to e-mails almost as quick as Darrel Ralph and delivers just as fast.

This is not to say that there are not others that are good but I am a creature of habit and will go back to the same watering hole until it is dry.

Thus my redundancy in ZT 0300 series and Emerson Commanders.

As far as I know, the first sale of blems starts with a hit and it carries over from there.

Personally, and I'm sure you may feel the same way, a product like Zero Tolerance, with their world class reputation for quality and long term, hard use, performance, is a fantastic bet for a blem purchase. Especially when the blems are difficult to even find.

I bought one of Dave's composite Leek blems a while back and it arrived without even having the X's on the blade. Darned if I can find anything on it rating it as a blem. I ordered a composite Rake from him today, and I seriously doubt if I find a blem on it either! Kershawguy rocks!

Yep, I purchased a Tanto Leek blem from Dave. It did have X's on the blade, but it looks great and it is now in EDC rotation.

I also purchased a Rake hopefully will have it Thursday. I like the sweep of the blade.

A lot of guys aren't going to agree with this, but when it comes to Kershaw's blems I would take any of them at the reduced price over a BNIB one for more. That's just me, but I buy my Kershaws to use and the blems cut just as well as the BNIB versions.

:thumbup:To me, you just hit the nail on the head about the whole purpose of owning a knife. I buy knives to use them, not look at them. It's sort of like buying a screwdriver, and mounting it up on the wall, and saying "wow, what a magnificent screwdriver" :D
