ZT 0308 detent question

I just got in a ZT 0308. First off it’s a solid blade. Quality is excellent but it should be. So my question for anyone who has one is how is your detent on it?

I heard a lot of people on reviews say the detent felt a bit strong. Mine isn’t weak but I’m not getting what I would call a strong detent. It seems to be dialed in. It won’t shake loose easily. I’d have to really shake it for it too open. Granted it’s got a heavy blade.

I am just wondering if ZT heard the detent was strong and made it easier on these more recent models. I have zero issues using the flipper tab. Just my curiosity if anyone knows if ZT did anything or did I just get one dialed in really good.

I just check on my three examples and they are all firm with the tiger stripe version being the most firm. That one you really need to press hard to get the blade moving.

I got a 0308 in tiger stripe just short of a month ago. I preordered it when they first came out but there was a shipping complication.

Mine started out with what was easily the strongest detent I've ever had on a knife. It was too strong in fact. I found myself fidgeting with this knife less than others because it would actually become tiring to do so.

Now that I've had and used it for a while, the detent has worn in to be right where I'd want it to be. I would still say it's on the stronger side of things, but it's no longer too strong.

If my example was par for the course for the early production models, then it would be my hope that ZT has been improving the action of these as production has gone on. We will likely need more time to see, however.

Pretty much perfect on mine. It's definitely broken in a bit, but it started out just fine so it's only gotten better. Can't shake out the blade, but not difficult to flip.

I cant shake it out unless I reverse it and do it. Flipping it isnt a problem either for me.

Yeah I keep hearing how strong the detent is but mine isnt. Again its not weak and it deploys great. I just wondered if it should have been stronger since it seems most people say its strong on their 0308. I was expecting a really strong detent. Its not. I just wonder if it will get weaker over time because that I do not want. I had a ZT...forgot the model that I bought and it had a super weak detent that the blade would easily shake out. It was so weak I had to return it.

Yeah mine I dont have to press hard. I can only fail it if Im really trying. Like I said seems dialed in. Long as it holds and doesnt get weak over time it will be good to go. I like a stronger detent than most but not so hard its uncomfortable to flip.
