I deassisted my 350, because I personally don't like speed assist. I've read reviews on here as well as elsewhere and people say they can still get the blade open lightning fast with the flipper and thumb stud. For me, I can use both opening methods but only if I add a wrist flick. And If I loosen the pivot, then it puts the blade off center. Any suggestions on finding a sweet spot or something else in can do?

I don't have the answer for you. But may I ask a question to build up my own understanding?

I have a couple of assisted opening ZTs; I thought the purpose of the assisted opening is to make it easier and faster to flip open? And then you took out the assisted opening and it's not opening fast enough for you and you want to know how you can make it faster than what it is now, am I understanding the situation correctly?

It's your knife and I'm not trying to make fun of you or insult you. I'm asking because I'm serious in wanting to understand.

I just don't like the speed assist, it feels cheap to me, it makes the knife feel cheaper to me. And where I live, having an assisted knife might freak some people out. I prefer manual. I've read so many threads of people saying how smoothly and quickly they can open it after taking out the speed assist. So my question was more of, is there something I need to change to reach that point. I've tried changing the pivot tightness, and I can get it to the point where I can open it easily as a manual, but when I close the blade, it's off center and there's some blade play.

I think I'd only use speed assist for a tactical knife...which I don't need because literally nothing bad happens where I live haha. I see what you mean though, the way I worded my post made me seem kind of dumb. But basically, I highly dislike speed assist, and was wondering if there is any other step to make it smoother without the spring. Maybe you're right, maybe I just have to deal with it or out the spring back in
