Got my ZT 0350 from kershawguy on 12.29.12, awesome specimen! Really great service from dave as always. The ZT 0350 is a bruiser from what i'm accustomed to, that being a couple different Kershaws (Leeks, Scallions), a Buck or two, and then one blade that is pretty similar in size: a Spyderco Manix 2.

However, the Speedsafe on this thing is a whole different animal than when compared to the Leek or Scallion. I mean, the sound it makes when it pops open is comparable to that of a Sequoia breaking in half. Anyway, I thought i'd take give it a try and go ala manual. After fighting the backside of the pivot screw spinning in the G10, I finally got the top scale off and was able to pull the torsion bar out. Would have been a 5 minute job if not for the spinning magic pivot of doom. After reassembly and a pocket clip flip to tip-up (blasphemy, I know!), she was ready to go.

It makes a great manual flipper. I've seen some complaints about the aggressive jimping on the thumb ramp making it difficult or painful to manipulate as a manual flipper, but i've found that with the right finger tension it will pop just right.

Now I need some sweet scales.

I'm right handed and carry my de-assisted 350 blade up toward the outside of my pocket.
I can almot open the knife with out flipping my wrist. Not quite as fast as my 560 but still sweet.
All I can say is "What's not to love"

I love the analogy you used. I haven't had the chance to handle the 0350, or any ZT for that matter, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to purchase one or handle one this year.

I also am a lover of the manual 350 as well as an everyday carrier of it.

One way to solve that is to not flip it like you do a non-speed safe flipper , because of the speed safe you don´t need to
apply as much force to flip it out , the speed safe does that for you , so what I do is I hold the knife in a almost "normal" grip,

then I adjust the grip ever so slightly so the meaty underside of my index finger between the knuckle and first joint is
on top of the flipper and press , done right you wont even feel the gimping , I hope that made some sense ,,

How did you fix the spinning pivot?

Erdbeereis, The pivot still spins in the G10, if I want to tighten or loosen the pivot any further I have to hold it with the channel locks and washer setup again. I have an idea floating in my head to remedy this, i'll keep you posted!

1234, Your reply made perfect sense. When I first got the knife I was doing just as you had mentioned, using the meatier bottom side of my index finger to manipulate the flipper to deploy the blade. Worked great when speedsafe assisted. However, I have now removed the speedsafe torsion bar effectively making the speedsafe feature no longer useable. She's a regular flippasaurus now.

Just did this to mine as well. Makes the knife perfect for me. Thinking of some carbon fiber scales for mine
