Hello experienced knife collectors

I am seriously considering a ZT 0350 for edc. This is based on reviews and commentary from this site.

I am considering the finish - the choices are:

ZT350STWW - Stone wash satin finish

ZT0350 - Tungsten DLC black coating

ZT 0350CB - Composite ELMAX/Sandvik 14C28N stainless-steel blade

The CB looks like it may be a different steel altogether or perhaps it is only a different finish.

I noticed on a youtube video the black can get scratched, but of course it could come in handy in a situation where reflection is not desired.

What are your opinions? Thanks in advance

I like Elmax(a lot), though the 14C28N doesn't seem too corrosion resistant. I'd prefer DLC if there's a choice more due to the friction reduction in cutting, corrosion barrier on the steel, and it's pretty damn wear resistant as well.

Unless you have a strict spending limitation though, might I suggest the ZT 0550/0551? Steel is a small step up from S30V, you get titanium on one side, it's about the same size as the 0350, and it fits in your hand like a glove.

It's very hard to scratch the Tungsten coating.

If you want to try out the awesome Elmax steel, then go for the composite blade. Otherwise I'd stick with the original ZT 0350 with the black blade (unless you like non-coated blades).

Holy Cow! I checked out the 0550 and am impressed! Guess I will be saving my $$ a little longer for this knife. Thanks for the tip.

In the meantime, get the ZT 0350 with composite blade. Very good knife.
