So long story short, I took the newly released carbon fiber scales from my ZT 0350SWCF and switched them with the standard G10 scales on the ZT 0350M390. I've got nothing against S30v, but M390 has really impressed me lately.

I will take some pictures, but in the mean-time, I've made a youtube video showing the end result:

Here's a quick picture until I can get some more:

So basically, the stonewash on the M390 0350 blade is much lighter (and similar to the regular stonewashed 0350) than the 0350SWCF. the 0350SWCF is a much darker, more aggressive stonewash. The M390 blade, however, has a sort of very smooth "sheen" to it that the 0350SWCF doesn't have.

Breaking down these knives was relatively easy. One thing I'll note: ZT greases the HELL out of these blades. There was grease everywhere! Ultimately everything went together perfectly and the knife came out great. The blade is centered perfectly, there is no play whatsoever, and all the parts are lined up exactly. It looks like it came outta the factory this way!

If I can scare up another couple of these knives, I may just have to build another one for a backup :)

I did that with mine a while back too.

ZT 0350 M390/CF (blade of the 0350M390 and frame of the 0350SWCF):

Gorgeous man! I'm glad I'm not the only one who did this. Also... Holy crap does ZT put a lot of grease on the inside of the 0350... Breaking two of them down was a messy affair, that's for sure.

A ZT0350 M390 in CF?

What an excellent idea!

Here's my personal 0350.
I opted for a little thicker scale with more contouring/rounding to the grip.

Ditto. Had to clean them and reapplied grease moderately.

They add the grease to stop the torsion bar from rattling when the blade is in the open position.

Nice Keyman. Those are CF scales that you made? Do they have the hollow portion so that the AO continues to function?

Yes Sir!
They certainly do.
However, I switched over to standoffs with mine.

Those CF 0350s all look really nice.

Keyman - where can I get some of those stand-offs, do you sell them?

I got them from knifekits.
On my custom scales there is a screw coming into the standoffs from both sides.
So, these would need to be threaded or tapped.
If you intend to use these standoffs with the factory scales; they will need to be bored out.
So, the screws can pass all the way through them.
